Santas on the run for charity

Slip into a special red suit with white fur trim and head on down to Hereford’s High Town for some festive fun with a serious purpose.

sd3656477koncernuni-26-pag.jpgThe Hereford-based international development charity, Concern Universal is throwing out an invitation to take part in a two-mile Santa Run from the Old House on Sunday December 5.

Those taking part will receive a free Santa outfit to run, walk, hop or skip the route through town, around St George’s playing fields, the Castle Green and back into High Town.

The organisers, who work in partnership to fight poverty and inequality in 12 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America, even point out that participants can bring their sleighs along to complete the course.

The entry fee is to cover costs, and the charity asks those taking part to raise £20 minimum in sponsorship to go towards Concern Universal’s work. Registration is at 10am on December 5, and the race starts at 11am.

Entry is £8 for children, £12 for adults and £35 for two adults and two children.A team of five to 10 is   £11 (adults) and £7 for children. A team of 11-plus is £10 and £6 .
