Ambrey close in on fourth straight win

Croft Ambrey Running Club have installed themselves as favourites to take the Herefordshire Cross Country Summer Off Road League with one race remaining.

The north Herefordshire Club took the team honours for the third successive race at last weekend’s meeting at Westhope.

Builth Wells Running Club’s Jon Pugh took first place ahead of close rival Matt James of Hereford Couriers with Ambrey’s Stacy Morgan finishing third.

Hereford & County Athletic Club’s Clara Evans put in another strong performance to finish as the first woman home in 22nd ahead of Croft Ambrey’s evergreen veteran Sue Davies, who finished in 29th place overall.

Croft Ambrey lead the table going into the last race of the season at Shobdon on Wednesday August 4 at 7.30pm.
