Have you seen Ros?

Police  have renewed their appeal for information on a Hereford woman who will have been missing for a month this Friday.

Sixty-two-year-old Rosalind Russell, known to her family as Ros, from Tupsley, was last seen by a taxi driver four weeks ago at 12.30pm on Friday, February 5.

He dropped her off on the A438 Ledbury road near the Hope and Anchor pub in the riverside village of Lugwardine.

She told him she was going for a walk but since then all efforts to contact her, including repeated calls to her mobile phone, have failed.

Contacted by the Journal this week, the detective leading the investigation, Sean Paley, said: “Based on all the available information, police and her family are deeply concerned about her.

“She left home a bit down and depressed.”

Detective Chief Inspector Paley added: “She left for Lugwardine in a taxi and was last seen by the riverside.

“This doesn’t mean she hasn’t moved on, and we are keeping an open mind.

“We have a possible sighting several hours later on farmland known as the flats when someone saw a woman answering her desciption.

“We are hoping she may still be found but fear for her safety.”

The DCI asked anyone with even the slightest information on her whereabouts to contact the police immediately.

Similarly, anyone with other information that might assist in the search for her should ring West Mercia Police on 0300 333 3000, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Mrs Russell is described as white, 5ft 1ins tall, of slim build with short brown  wavy hair with grey flecks.

She was last seen wearing a blue anorak with pink lining, navy trousers and black boots.

Meanwhile, another Hereford woman, Suzanne Andrews, was found safe and well following a police appeal on Friday. She had gone missing on her way home from a city education centre.
