During Lent, artist Richard Bavin has been installed in seven South Herefordshire parish churches as artist in residence.
Using charcoal on large sheets of paper, he will lead three-hour sessions, beginning and ending with a simple prayer.
And at one night session on Tuesday, March 30, the first day of the Passover he will be drawing the full moon, clouds allowing, as it shines through thechurch windows.
All drawing workshops will be relaxed and informal and people are welcome to come and go as they wish.
Some people may prefer to watch Richard work, talk with him about the project, or simply enjoy the reflective quiet.
Richard is also happy to offer guidance with drawing and work will be displayed.
Children aged 11 upwards are welcome to take part if accompanied by an adult.
Richard’s drawings will be the focus of a meditation service in St Weonards parish church on Easter Saturday, April 3, from 2 to 3pm. The event has been part funded by the Elmley Foundation.
Drawing sessions: March 1, 10am to 1pm, St Weonards; March 13, 10am to 1pm, Garway; March 16, 2 to 5pm, Hoarwithy; March 17, 10am to 1pm, Orcop; March 25, 10am to 1pm, Tretire; March 27, 2 to 5pm, Pencoyd; March 30, midnight to 3am, Hentland.
