Group’s Fairtrade fun

Ross Fairtrade Steering Group has been arranged  a series of events in the town during Fairtrade Fortnight, which lasts until Sunday, March 7.

They will be taking to the floor for a Strictly Fairtrade Tea Circle Dance on Saturday, March 6, from 2pm to 4pm, at the Quaker Meeting House on Brampton Street.

All are welcome to try out circle dances from around the world and enjoy some Fairtrade snacks and treats.

Forms for a Ross-on-Wye Fairtrade treasure hunt can be collected from local retailers and should be handed in or posted to the Ross Town Council offices, High Street,  by Friday, March 5.

The prize will be a hamper full of Fairtrade goodies.

As well as regular coffee mornings – on Saturday, February 27, at Christ Church and Saturday, March 6, at the  Quaker Meeting House – there is the chance to see some of the Ethos range of Fairtrade products at a coffee morning at Court House, Archenfield Road, on Monday, March 1.

There will be a collection for the children of the Shakti orphanage in Nepal, supported by Ethos, on Sunday, February 21, and a fairtrade service at Christ Church, Edde Cross Street.

At the Quaker Meeting House on Wednesday, March 3, at 7pm, Mary Sinclair-Powell will be telling some tales of Old Ross.

Entry costs £3.50 in advance and £4 on the night in support of the Mayors Charity (MacMillan Cancer Relief Fund) and the Fairtrade group.
