A woman was trapped in her car and needed rescuing by firemen after being run off the road by another driver who drove off without stopping.
The unnamed woman was travelling south on the A49 at Peterstow at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, May 5, when her red Vauxhall Corsa was hit from behind while she was braking to turn left into the lane at the side of the Red Lion.
The Corsa was forced up a grass bank and overturned, the car which collided with her didn’t stop and carried on towards Ross-on-Wye. It is believed the vehicle was blue or silver in colour.
The driver of the Corsa was trapped in the vehicle after it overturned and the fire service was called to get her out. She was checked over by an ambulance crew but was uninjured. The A49 had to be closed for a short period for the car to be recovered.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision or the blue/silver vehicle leaving the scene towards Ross-on-Wye.
They would also like to hear from anyone who knows of a blue/silver vehicle that has suddenly acquired front end damage since May 5.
