The grounds of Berrington Hall, near Leominster, will provide the backdrop for a series of demonstrations by the emergency services this weekend.
Between 11am and 4pm on Saturday Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue teams will bring in a wrecked car to show how traffic accidents are handled and an inflatable house will enable firefighters to recreate the smoke-filled atmosphere of a house fire.
Visitors to the National Trust property can attend talks and demonstrations by the emergency services and officers will be on hand to answer questions on how to stay safe in a fire and also tips on fire prevention.
The local policing team for Leominster Rural will be available for questions about policing in the area, and the county’s crime prevention officer will give advice on home security, as well as personal safety for young and old.
Midlands Air Ambulance representatives will be on-site to talk to visitors about their work, which covers 10 counties in the region from Wales to Warwickshire.
Visitor services manager at Berrington Hall, Gareth Gwilt said: “We’re looking forward to hosting this event which will be a first for us. The extensive grounds at Berrington are a great location for them to carry out their demonstrations.”
Normal admission charges will apply, however, any visitor bringing along the cutting from the paper will get free entry to the event.
