Macmillan Fun Run and Walk

Competitors planning to join the Kingsland Macmillan Fun Run and Walk later this month can now book their place on-line.

The new registration service has been provided by Macmillan Cancer Support and is helping supporters to put their names forward for this major local walking and running event at Luctonians’ Sports Club on Saturday, May 16.

The Kingsland event includes two routes – 4.7 miles or a more challenging 10.2 miles – in order to cater for all abilities.

This year’s event will be opened this year by actor John Challis, the infamous ‘Boycie’ of TV’s classic Only Fools and Horses.

Macmillan Cancer Support hopes other organisers will host walking events of any size throughout the year as part of its ‘Walk With Us Campaign’.

Those limbering up in readiness for the Kingsland event can visit the new service at the website  www.macmillan.org.uk/walking where they will be able to source the event easily using the keyword ‘Kingsland’ and register their £5 entry.

Macmillan Cancer Support is hoping that other organisers will host walking events of any size throughout the year as part of its ‘Walk With Us Campaign’.

Says the charity’s fundraising manager, Sarah Grout: “Macmillan will be able to offer this online registration service for any other events organised on behalf of the charity”.

If you are interested in hosting your own walking event, please contact Sarah on 01432 343030 or email sgrout@macmillan.org.uk
