Leominster town councillors are unhappy with the Safer Routes to School cycleway from Baron’s Cross to the town’s schools suggested by Herefordshire Council.
At Monday’s meeting they decided to ask officers from Herefordshire Council to come to Leominster to discuss the proposal.
Councillors expressed concern that the suggested route shared pavements with pedestrians and that some of the roads it followed through residential areas were narrow and used by vehicular traffic.
The proposed route is at present out for consultation with the public, schools and cyclists.
