TV star John Challis could be striding out across the green green grass at Kingsland next month at the start of an annual charity fund-raiser.
Once again, this sponsored walk will take place at Luctonians’ Sports Club and scores of people will sign up to take part in the hope of raising more money for the Macmillan appeal.
The walk, on Saturday, May 16, starts at 11am, and Leominster’s ‘Fit for Life’ guru Sue Gardner will be in charge of a warm-up for those taking part.
Organised by Lyn Perrott, Emma Strangwood and Bengry’s Garage in the Bargates, Leominster, the event is inspired in memory of Pauline Strangwood from Leominster, and Paula Davies and Mary Jenkins, both from Kingsland.
Lyn points out that the actor, best-known as ‘Boycie’ in Only Fools and Horses, is aiming to start the walk/run, if he is available on the day.
John Challis can regularly be seen on TV in the hit series, The Green Green Grass, a spin-off of the classic sit-com starring David Jason as Del Boy.
lFor entry forms contact Lyn on 01568 708821, Emma Strangwood on 01568 613789 or pick one up at Bengrys Garage, Bargates, Leominster.
