Bikes worth £2,800 stolen

Thieves have snatched two bicycles – believed to be the only ones of their kind in the country – from a locked garage at Wigmore.

Police are appealing for information following the burglary in Ford Street between last Wednesday afternoon and noon on Sunday.

A khaki and black Orbea Satellite mountain bike and a custom-made Cyclo Crosslight, with knobbly red-rimmed tyres, were stolen.

The branding on the stem/handlebars is FSA and the gears are Campagnolo.

Both bikes are worth around £1,400.

The thieves rode the bikes across the back garden to open fields at the rear, but their escape route from there is unknown.
