National Trust Christmas Fayre

Families can take time out from the high street and do some Christmas shopping amid the beautiful surroundings of elegant 18th century Berrington Hall near Leominster.

The National Trust property is hosting a traditional Christmas Fayre on December 6 and 7, when visitors will be able to browse around a variety of stalls selling a range of Christmas food and gifts in the courtyard from 12noon to 4pm on both days. There will also be a visit by two donkeys from the Shortwood Farm, near Hereford.

Parts of the outbuildings will also be open and decorated in Edwardian style and on Saturday, visitors are invited to join in with a carol singing session led by Berrington’s volunteers. On Sunday, Herefordshire Council’s Music Service brass band will be performing. Says property manager Tina Salter: “It will be the perfect opportunity to soak up the festive atmosphere and start your Christmas shopping in beautiful surroundings.”

The National Trust tea-room will be open serving Christmas lunch, drinks and  snacks, including mulled wine and mince pies.

Below Stairs, the grounds, tea-room and the shop at Berrington are open from 12noon to 4.30pm at weekends until December 21.

Normal grounds admission prices will apply.
