Volunteer to help

If you have at least half a day a week to spare, Age Concern Leominster and District would like to hear from you!

Launching the latest recruitment drive for volunteers, Tony Cooper, who coordinates volunteer activities from West Street, points out that 2009 already looks as if it will be a very busy year as the demand for services grows.

“We can’t survive without our wonderful band of volunteers,” said Tony, “and I would urge anyone with an interest in the welfare of older people in North Herefordshire to come and have a chat about the opportunities.”

Age Concern Leominster and District would particularly like to hear from anyone who can help in the Info Café, providing basic advice to clients, or anyone prepared to undergo basic podiatry training to help deliver a footcare programme. Tony added: “We also urgently need a volunteer leader at our Leintwardine day centre which, despite earlier appeals, still remains unfilled.”
