Driver is critical after tree crash

An18-year-old man is in a critical but stable condition in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham after the car he was driving left the road and hit a tree in north Herefordshire.

The incident happened at approximately 3.30pm on Saturday November 15 on the A4112 at Sarnesfield Cross. 

Two vehicles, a blue Skoda Felicia and a blue Ford Focus, were travelling in company from Weobley towards Kington on the A4112 when the Skoda left the road on the offside, colliding with a tree and landing on its roof.

A police spokesman said: “The driver sustained serious head injuries in the crash. He was taken to Hereford County Hospital and later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where he remains in a critical condition. Two young male passengers in the vehicle escaped with minor cuts and bruises.”

Police are anxious to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who saw the vehicles travelling from Weobley towards Sarnesfield beforehand.
