Wait for tests into death of gardener

It could take several weeks to find out how South Herefordshire gardener David Langdon met his fate, say police who are waiting for the results of toxicology tests to help them shed light on the mystery surrounding the discover of his body on a bonfire in a Wormelow garden.

The subsequent post mortem examination proved inconclusive so the cause of death is still unknown.

Toxicology tests were taken from Mr Langdon’s body to determine whether his remains contain traces of alcohol or drugs, which may provide clues as to the manner in which he died.

Police say it could take several weeks for the results of the “detailed” tests to come back, mainly because of the “comprehensive” nature of them.

In the meantime their investigation continues and they are still seeking people to come forward to fill in the details about Mr Langdon’s whereabouts in the days leading up to his death. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Operation Facility Incident Room at Hereford Police Station on 08457 444888 or call the confidential Crimestoppers line anonymously on 0800 555111.
