A man and a woman were injured when a car and a camper van collided at Old Gore crossroads, near Ross-on-Wye last Friday night (August 1).
A Vauxhall Corsa travelling along the B4224 towards Hereford, and a Fiat Ducato camper van on the A449 towards Ledbury collided at about 5.50pm on the junction.
The woman passenger in the Corsa received serious pelvic and arm injuries and was airlifted to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham, where she remains in a stable condition.
The man driving the Corsa was treated at Hereford County Hospital for minor head and chest injuries.
An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, an incident support officer, two BASICS Doctors and the County Air Ambulance from Cosford were sent to the scene.
An ambulance service spokesman said: “Crews found a car and a motor-home-style camper van had been in a collision.
“The motor home ended up on its side.
“The 28-year-old woman passenger was trapped in the car and was released by the fire service while receiving emergency treatment from ambulance crews.
“She was treated at the scene for chest and pelvic injuries and airlifted to hospital.
“The man driving the car was treated at the scene for multiple minor injuries and transferred by land ambulance to Hereford County Hospital for further treatment.
“It is believed two people travelling in the motor home were not injured.”
The road was closed for five hours.
