Golden chance to make treasure

The old adage “one person’s trash is another’s treasure” will ring true this Thursday when youngsters are invited to gather at the Heritage Centre, Ross-on-Wye, to make treasure chests out of recycled material.

The fun day is part of the free of charge summer activities being organised to entertain children during the school holiday.

On Thursday morning they will be using recycled materials to decorate boxes where they can keep their precious objects. The creative recycling theme continues on each Thursday in August with a craft workshop to make night sky pictures out of wax on August 7 and the making of a movable wobbly animal or bird out of cardboard on August 14.

This is followed by the use of old sweet wrappers to make a work of art on August 21 and the create a ‘face in a box’ workshop on August 28.

All the activities are drop-in sessions between 10.30am and 1pm. Call Ross Heritage Centre on 01432 260675.
