Keep eye out for clocks

Anyone who clocks a clock on offer – and particularly if you work in the antiques or collectibles trades – is asked to keep an eye out for timepieces believed to have been stolen during a collector’s house move between Cornwall and Herefordshire.

Police believe the theft may have occurred between Monday, March 31 and Wednesday, April 2 when the collector moved from St Austell in Cornwall to Shobdon.

One of the stolen items was a tortoiseshell and inlaid brass clock, made by James Parr of Paris, which is 20ins high with a slight chip and crack in the dial and a missing pendulum.

Also missing is a Skeleton clock – a James Parr of Paris apprentice piece – and a Viennese Stringer clock, 26ins tall.

Anyone who may have seen or been offered these clocks is asked to contact Maddy Jacob on the public service desk at Hereford Police Station on 08457 444888, extension 4806, or pass information anonymously on the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.
