Leominster takes a step closer to becoming a ‘Transition Town’ with a meeting tomorrow night, Thursday, at 7.30pm in the Community Centre.
Organisers believe calls for a shift towards self-sufficiency and sustainability are striking a chord in Leominster as soaring oil prices and the credit crisis continue to bite.
A film about Cuba’s success in adapting to an oil supply crisis has received overwhelming support from local people, and a talk this week by Leominster woman, Trish Marsh, on the subject of the ‘Herefoodshire’ initiative is expected to draw a large audience. Admission to her talk will be free, and there will be a chance to sample local cheese and bread.
