The Town Council has launched a new website to improve communications with Ross-on-Wye residents and help achieve one of its priorities of becoming more influential at County Council level.
The website includes town news, weather forecasts, travel news, details on town councillors and council projects.
The Council is hoping the site will help in its “priority” bid for Quality Status as part of the Quality Parish and Town Council scheme.
The national scheme aims to enhance relationships between local councils, principal authorities and community and voluntary sector organisations by providing minimum standards for parish and town councils.
In its annual report the Town Council says: “The achievement of Quality Status will allow more powers to be devolved by the County Council and will help the Town Council to gain greater influence on local issues specific to Ross-on-Wye and its residents.”
The launch of the website is part of a set of new council policies and procedures that are being implemented to meet the Quality Status regulations.
The address for the new website is www.rosstc-herefordshire.gov.uk
