The Journal’s staff photographer Andy Compton is hoping to create the right image with judges at the Midlands Media Awards – and win the Weekly Newspaper Photographer of the Year category in this year’s competition.
He is off to the finals this Friday, June 6, at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre.
The awards have been organised for many years by the Birmingham Press Club, which claims to be the oldest in the world.
Andy’s portfolio is on a short-list of five which have been selected by the judges from those submitted by photographers throughout the Midlands.
